Sightseeing in Palermo (itinerary 1): The four corners of the city, the catacombs, Casa Professa, the street market at Via Bandiera, the jewelry district, eating junk food at Massimos, Teatro Massimo tour, the Royal Palace, and the Cathedral.

Sightseeing in Palermo (itinerary 2): Mondello, Mt. Pellegrino, and Santa Rosalia.

Sightseeing in Taormina (itinerary 1): (overnight recommended) the Greek theater and strolling through town.

Sightseeing in Taormina (itinerary 2): a visit to Castelmola, the naughty restaurant, etc.

Sightseeing Cefalu by day and night.

Archeology (ancient - BC): Agrigento, Segesta, Solinunte, and Solunto.

Archeology (Roman): Piazza Armerina (remains of a Roman villa), and aqueducts.

Archeology (medieval 1000-1600 AD): Monreale Cathedral walkthrough, Caccamo castle, Erice, and Sperlinga (cave dwellers).

Food: Dinner at La Campagnola in Buonfornello.

Food: Dinner at an agriturismo (chef cooks local specialties, no menu).

Food: Lunch at Da Gianninos (fun to eat at while visiting ceramic shops in Santo Stefano).

Food - our best list: The best gelato at Stan Campianos in Palermo, Sicilian junk food, the best sausage from Polizzi Generosa, the best panetone from Castelbuono, the best pastry shops, our favorite profiteroles

Shopping: Santo Stefano, Caltagirone, Termini market, street markets.

Other fun stuff: Santa Rosalia festival (Sept 4), traditional Sicilian puppet show, hike to the top of Cefalu mountain, tour the top of the Mt Etna volcano, a visit to Piano Battaglia (high elevation / Sicilys tiny ski area / an agriturismo), Kartodromo (go-carts), take a mini-airplane flight, golfing, visit wineries, local festivals.

And of course, just hanging out on Sicily's incredible beaches.
